Room 104 Week 36

Hi parents!

Although the school year is wrapping up, we are definitely not winding down! Take a look at what we’ve been up to this week 🙂

  • On Tuesday we planted flowers in front of Plato. It was great to get outside and get our hands dirty! Plus we get to see the beautiful flowers each day on our way to recess.

  • Throughout the week we have been working on our retelling of Pinocchio. We made backgrounds for each part of the story, practiced our lines, and made costumes! I’m sure your kids have been talking about it at home and I hope they are proud of all of their hard work! Stay tuned for our final video.

  • Although we finished reading The Great Wall of Lucy Wu last week, we wanted to continue our study of Chinese culture this week. On Thursday we prepared dumplings just like Lucy did at her birthday party with Yipo. We also made mooncake dough. Today we enjoyed eating our treats! Cooking and eating together are excellent community-building experiences. We also practice fine motor skills, try new foods, practice literacy while reading recipes, and work with measurement/fractions. Most of the class enjoyed the mooncakes and we had mixed reviews about the dumplings 🙂 Here are the recipes if you want to try making them at home!
